Contents Insurance Scheme for Council Tenants

Broxtowe Borough Council administers a scheme whereby tenants of the Council may insure the contents of their home.

Tenants are strongly advised to take out contents insurance as in the event of a fire, flood or burglary for example, the Council would not provide any assistance to tenants with replacement of possessions.

You may wish to consider alternative insurers but under the Council's scheme payments may be made weekly, and premiums start at 67p per week for £6,000 sum insured.

If you wish to join the scheme, there is more information on the Contents Insurance Advisory Leaflet. You can download the application form on the Home Contents Insurance Just for You leaflet and send the completed signed form to the Resources Directorate (Rents Section) at the Council Offices.
