Council Housing
Broxtowe Borough Council owns approximately 4,700 homes, of which over a third are for persons of or approaching retirement age.
Housing
The Housing Division aims to ensure that a good quality home is available to all through the councils strategic role in housing and in the management of the Council's own stock.
The strategic role involves regular review of house conditions across all tenures, identification of social housing needs and enabling people with special needs to live independently.
Management of the Council's Housing Stock involves: -
- Allocation of Tenancies
- Carrying out repairs and maintenance
- Addressing antisocial behaviour
- Administering the right to buy and collecting rents
- Properties For Rent
The Waiting List
The number of homes we have available to let at any one time is low compared to the number of people we have wanting them. To ensure that those people in greatest need are given homes first a points system is used.
The waiting list is divided into three main categories Families, Adult, and Elderly and each has its own application form and set of eligibility rules.
