Licensing & Land Charges

The Licensing Section deals with applications for licences in relation to the Licensing Act 2003, Gambling Act 2005 (including small society lotteries), taxi licensing, house to house and street collections, massage & special treatment Licences and sex establishments. Permits are also issued for the use of Beeston, Eastwood, Kimberley and Eastwood Squares.

The Borough Council has a number of licensing regulatory and registration powers and duties

The Licensing Section deals with the licensing and registrations of a wide range of people and premises including those relating to provision of alcohol, entertainment, late night refreshment premises, sex establishments, cinemas, theatres, charitable collections, amusement with prizes machines and lotteries. The Section also licences hackney carriages, private hire vehicles, drivers and operators.

The enforcement of unlicensed activities and compliance with licence conditions is carried out by an enforcement team who ensure that all complaints received are dealt with quickly, and are fully and fairly investigated.
