Abandoned vehicles
- Abandoned and Unwanted Vehicles
  A growing number of motorists are choosing to dump old or troublesome vehicles on the streets of Broxtowe Borough Council. The Council dealt with 279 vehicles in 2006 compared to 492 in the previous year, to date this year we have had 158 reported abandoned vehicles.

  Broxtowe Borough Council provides Radar keys to all residents of the Borough who are disabled, free of charge.

- Shopmobility
  Beeston Shopmobility is an independent voluntary organisation which is located at the Beeston multi-storey car park, to operate a scooter hire service to disabled users. Approximately 60 people use the service each week and there are 1,250 registered users. The service is located on the ground floor of the multi-storey car park and provides 12 scooters and three wheelchairs.

- Radon
  Radon is a naturally occurring, odourless, tasteless radioactive gas which seeps into the atmosphere from minute amounts of uranium that are present in all rocks, soils, bricks and concrete. Outdoors, radon is diluted and poses a negligible risk, however, when it collates in enclosed spaces concentrations can build up. The main danger from high exposure is the increased risk of lung cancer.
