(1) From just inside Hall om Wong turn right & walk to bottom right hand corner of ground. Go through fence & turn left, walking uphill, keeping fence on left hand side. At 'Bank Cottage' follow path going left & then right uphill. Continue up path & then walk to end of lane with terraced cottages. (These once belonged to the Brewery & were used as cottages for employees - Oaklodge Drive.)
(2) At road (Hardy Street) turn right, passing Brewery. Immediately after bridge over the road turn left up Hardy Close.
(3) Pass through barrier gate & soon afterwards turn right crossing railway-bridge over disused line. Turn left as soon as you come to open space, following fencing on left hand side against dismantled railway. As grass area ends, turn right onto wide grassy path between houses to bring you onto residential road (Chilton Drive).
(4) Turn left & then next right up Cloverlands Drive, walking to the junction with Newdigate Road. Turn right over another former railway bridge, & then past Kimberley Comprehensive School.
(5) Take footpath on left, just after school driveway, down the side of the school, towards the Leisure Centre. Continue past Leisure Centre car park onto Noel Street.
(6) Follow path between small business unit & no. 64 Noel Street. Pass right around the edge of the Recreation Ground & play area, heading towards the main road. Cross road & walk up footpath opposite, continuing to junction of paths.
(7) Turn left & then on reaching road (Knowle Hill) turn right up the steep climb. At end of road walk over footbridge above bypass (A610).
(8) At other side go diagonally left across open space to stile. Cross stile & go straight across field, heading for farm buildings. Cross metal stile next to gate into farmyard, just to the left hand side of the farm buildings. Go through farmyard towards fields straight ahead. Follow well-marked track across six fields to M1.
(9) Turn right along track by side of motorway & continue to bridge on left hand side. Cross bridge & turn left, walking down the footpath running alongside the motorway. (Please be aware of potential changes to this next section of the walk, due to developments in the business park. This could involve route diversions or changes to the current right of way. Please also be aware of potential hazards.)
(10) Turn right at the bottom of the field, following path until you reach a gap in the fencing on the right hand side. Turn right & then bear left to walk along the fenced path through field towards the business park.
(11) Follow this track to reach a cycle & pedestrian path, which you should follow straight ahead, across the access road to the business park & until a main road (Woodhouse Way).
(12) Cross over at pedestrian crossing, turn right & walk down this road until you come to the next set of traffic lights at crossroads.
(13) Turn right at traffic lights onto Strelley Road, leading to Main Street. Continue through village, passing Broad Oak Public House, All Saints Church & Strelley Hall & Park. (Thomas Webb Edge built Strelley Hall in 1789. It occupies the original site of the first 12th century building & the southwest corner still incorporates part of the medieval tower of the old hall. The house is set in extensive gardens, which include a walled kitchen garden built between 1788 & 1800. Strelley Hall is now used as business premises but still retains its character.)
(14) Opposite entrance to Strelley Hall, take track on left hand side, signed public bridleway, & pass over the motorway. Soon after reaching other side, look out for a stile in the hedges on the right hand side, signed to Awsworth/Cossall.
(15) Cross stile & turn left, going to bottom left hand corner of field. Go over stile & cross field, heading for top left hand corner of field, just to the right of the farm house Turkey Fields Farm.
(16) Cross stile & then head diagonally left, about 65 degrees, to reach stile leading into woodland ahead (Spring Wood).
(17) Go over stile into wood. Follow only path through wood & cross stile at far side, into field.
(18) Walk straight ahead through field to next stile & after crossing, bear slightly left, & walk to top of this field, heading for stile in top left hand corner.
(19) At stile turn right along track. Just as track to Swingate Farm becomes private, take footpath on left. Cross stile & take path diagonally right towards radio mast ahead.
(20) Carry on into next field & continue in same direction - you will soon see houses ahead. Go through gap in hedge/trees & follow path to left until joining a track. Turn right & follow track past houses to reach iron railings & radio mast on the left hand side.
(21) Follow footpath signed to Kimberley fencing & mast will be on your right to meet road (Spring Hill). Turn left & follow road to end, going straight onto field, staying against right hand hedge.
(22) Follow path & just before end of field drop down right with path &go through thicket & over stile. Follow footpath left along top of field, & then bearing down towards bottom left hand corner. Before reaching corner look out for fork in path & turn diagonally right towards bottom hedges. This path will take you to a gap in the hedge, & a stile.
(23) Cross stile, follow path to right & walk through tunnel under bypass. Turn left as you exit tunnel, follow track & then go up steps on right hand side.
(24) Follow track through bushes & then at T-junction of paths, turn right you will see a preserved railway 'Signal' & 'Buffer' to your left. Follow this old railway track to road (Church Hill). Turn Left down hill & then Left onto Eastwood Road to return to the starting point, or turn right to go into Kimberley Town Centre.
