D.H. Lawrence Heritage is a multi award winning visitor attraction celebrating one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century. With two attractions to visit, Durban House Heritage Centre and the D. H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum, D.H. Lawrence Heritage promises a great day out for everyone!

Change to opening hours and admission prices

From 2010 D.H. Lawrence Heritage will be open Tuesday to Friday and Sundays from 10am until 4pm, November to March, and until 5pm, April to October. Museum tours will be available from 10.30am. We will be closed Monday and Saturday. A small admission price will now be charged daily. See the Visiting D.H. Lawrence Heritage webpage to discover more.

Don't miss the 2010 D.H. Lawrence Festival!

DH Lawrence Throughout D.H. Lawrence's birthday month of September there will be more than 80 events on offer promising something for everyone to enjoy and get involved in! This is our biggest celebration to date bringing together a diverse mix of events and activities which celebrate the life and works of the writer in and around his hometown of Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.

Hatters Tea Shop Now Open

Delicious cream teas and a quintessentially English menu await you. Open now Tuesday to Friday and Sunday 10am until 4pm. Officially opening Sunday 5th September 11am until 4pm which includes a complimentary glass of wine or cup of tea.

Children & Young Person's Open Art Exhibition

Children Painting Don't miss D.H. Lawrence Heritage's forthcoming Children & Young Person's Open Art Exhibition. This is the opportunity for budding young artists out there, aged 5 - 16 years old, to create a piece of artwork especially for this real exhibition.  We are delighted that all places have now been filled. The Exhibition will be on display from Thursday 2nd to Friday 24th September

NEW Lunchtime Lecture Series launched

Details of D.H. Lawrence Heritage's NEW lunchtime lecture series has now been released. Taking place the 2nd Tuesday of the month the lectures will explore the fascinating history of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire along with other cultural topics.

We are open Tuesday to Friday and Sundays

Summer Season (April to October)10:00 - 17:00
Winter Season (November to March)10:00 - 16:00

D.H. Lawrence Heritage will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period from Saturday 25th December 2010 until Monday 3rd January 2011.

Hatters Tea Shop, at Durban House, is open Tuesday to Friday and Sunday, 10am until 4pm. Follow the link in the right hand menu for further details.

D.H. Lawrence Heritage

Durban House Heritage Centre boasts the Rainbow Gallery (a temporary exhibition space), as well as permanent displays on mining and on the great writer, D.H. Lawrence himself. There's even Hatters Tea Shop on site offering a delicious meals, drinks and snacks.

DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum A short walk away, the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is, as its' name suggests, the  house of Lawrence's birth and has been restored to look as it did then, in 1885. Experienced guides will help you explore this Victorian time capsule.

Durban House Our exciting programme of events, exhibitions and annual festival, all of which can be found through the links from the menu to the left. There's even the Blue Line Trail to explore, a walk linking all of the Lawrence related sites.
