D.H. Lawrence Heritage is a multi-award winning visitor attraction celebrating one of the greatest writers of the 20th Century. With two attractions to visit, D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre and the D. H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum, D.H. Lawrence Heritage promises a great day out for everyone!

D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre boasts the Rainbow Gallery (a temporary exhibition space), as well as permanent displays on mining and on the Durban house front in the snow great writer, D.H. Lawrence himself.

A short walk away, the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is, as its' name suggests, the  house of Lawrence's birth and has been restored to look as it did then, in 1885. Experienced guides will help you explore this Victorian time capsule.

Please Note - That The Birthplace Museum now has timed tours and is bookable in advance by phone (see right hand link to Visiting D.H. Lawrence Heritage for more details).

The Colliery Bistro at D.H. Lawrence Heritage Centre

The Colliery Bistro, offers a delicious selection of hot food, drinks and cakes. Buffets and groups can be provided for with advanced booking.
