Every year D.H. Lawrence Heritage hosts a festival to celebrate the life of one of Britain's greatest writers.

Anthony Kirby Festival In September 2009 the 6th annual D.H. Lawrence Festival took place in and around Lawrence's hometown of Eastwood.  A staggering 7,348 people participated in over seventy events and activities throughout the month long celebration.

Don't miss the 2010 Festival wish promises to be an even bigger tribute to the writer D.H. Lawrence and the stunning mining country that inspired his works.

There will be the opportunity to:

  • Uncover hidden creative talents through creative workshops;
  • Discover more about D.H. Lawrence's fascinating life and works through reading groups, talks and lectures;
  • Explore the beautiful countryside that inspired Lawrence's works on guided walks;
  • Delve into the wonderful heritage of 'D.H. Lawrence Country' through exhibitions, events and activities taking place as part of the National Heritage Open weekend;
  • Be stimulated by theatre performances, film screenings, writing and music;

This celebration has been developed by Broxtowe Borough Council, who today aim to promote the history and works of this writer under the umbrella of D.H. Lawrence Heritage.
