Approximately 100 authorised content authors from individual service areas across the borough council are responsible for the maintenance and development of discrete information collections.

Each directorate has a principal content author. Each author contributes to the development of the website as an adjunct to other job responsibilities.

Other officers are involved in supporting the day-to-day running of the website infrastructure and provision of online services, including officers from ICT Services, Customer Services and Legal plus the extensive network of content authors around the council as described above.

Socitm Better Connected 2013

The annual Socitm Better Connected 2013 report awarded Broxtowe Borough Council with a rating of 3 out of 4 stars and Mobile Accessible.

Socitm Better Connected provides a snapshot of all local authority websites to identify good practice using evidence-based research.

A team of reviewers carried out a structured survey of 474 council websites nationwide, which included 224 questions and four shorter surveys on specific topics. The review also looked at everything from the customers' journey to top tasks, usability, usage, social media and visitor feedback.

Broxtowe Borough Council was one of 140 councils nationwide to receive the three-star award.
