Richard Robinson

Councillor Richard Robinson has been a Councillor for the Kimberley and Cossall ward since 2003, and was re-elected in 2007 and 2011.

He was first elected in 1991 as the representative for the Eastwood East ward and was re-elected in 1995 and 1999.

Richard is a member of Cabinet and holds the portfolio for Jobs and Business Growth.

Richard was a County Councillor for Kimberley and Trowell between 1997 and May 2005 and stood as Labour Parliamentary Candidate for Charnwood in the 2005 elections.

From November 2011 Richard worked for Unison, but since October 2012 he has worked full time for Gavin Shuker, Labour MP for Luton South. Before this he has worked for a number of Labour MPs, been in the Civil Service and was the Regional Organiser for Ed Miliband's Labour Leadership Campaign in the East Midlands.

Richard was born in 1962 and is a graduate of Nottingham Trent University. He is married to Sarah and they have two children, Laura and Joseph.

Richard and Sarah are members of Trent Vineyard church in Nottingham.
