The future of housing in Broxtowe Borough

Nine all-new family homes will be unveiled to local househunters this year as part of a £2.1million investment which will see 25 new Council properties built across the borough.

Three family homes were officially unveiled in Sunnyside Road, Chilwell earlier this year before the final touches were applied to six properties in Hawker Close, Chilwell (pictured below).

The properties represent the first of a two-part development after Broxtowe Borough Council successfully bid for over £1million of Government funding to secure new Council homes for the borough.

Each of the new properties in Sunnyside Road and Hawker Close are situated on generously sized plots and benefit from high levels of insulation and ground-source heat pumps which supply heat and hot water to the properties.

The second phase of the development will see six houses and 10 flats in Stapleford made available to Council tenants this summer.

The new properties also complement recent changes to the way Council properties are allocated after the new Choice Based Lettings Scheme, Homesearch was introduced to give residents more choice about where they want to live.

For more information and to apply to become a Council tenant, please contact Broxtowe Borough Council using the details provided at opposite or visit the Homesearch website.
