Broxtowe Sport Social CyclingBike ride with friends

Broxtowe Sport run a programme of social cycle rides in partnership with Ridewise's Rural Rides Programme and British Cycling's Breeze. Rides start from different areas of the Borough for people of all ages and abilities.

Additional rides and dates will be added throughout the year so please check the website regularly.

Pre-requisites

Aged 16+ and Female.

Participants must have a roadworthy bike and basic cycling ability. No helmet, no ride!

More Details

A social bike ride aiming to improve the fitness and road awareness skills of intermediate lady cyclists. The route will take place on a mixture of roads in Nottingham and Derby. The pace will be steady and suitable for intermediate cyclists. Rides will cover between 20 - 30 miles with a stop for social Tea and Coffee on route.

Participants are advised to bring a pump, a spare inner tube and clothing for wet weather.

How to book?

Mondays: 3rd June, 1st July, 5th August, 2nd September, 7th October and 4th November.

Time

10:30am Meet.

Venue

Chilwell Olympia Sports Centre, Bye Pass Road, Chilwell, Nottingham, NG9 5HR. (Meet outside the main reception).

Pre-requisites

Participants must have a roadworthy bike and be able to cycle for a maximum of one hour with short breaks in between. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 years plus.

More Details

A social bike ride starting from Chilwell Olympia Sports Centre. The route will take place on a mixture of roads, footpaths and trails. The pace will be slow and suitable for beginners.

More Details

A social bike ride starting from Eastwood Community Sports Centre. The route will take place on a mixture of roads in Nottingham and Derby. There will be two groups on the day. The beginners group will cycle approximately 10 miles and the intermediate group will cycle approximately 30 miles.

Participants are advised to bring a pump, a spare inner tube and clothing for wet weather.

Ridewise and Rural Rides

Ridewise is a community organisation that offers a range of services to get people cycling. Ridewise offers training sessions for groups, schools and individuals to develop the skills needed to cycle safely. 

Ridewise also offers a loan scheme where people can borrow bikes and a programme of free led cycle rides across Nottingham.
