Open (Green) Spaces Strategy
The Green Spaces Strategy is an assessment of the provision and standard of the Borough's green spaces, which are owned by Broxtowe Borough Council and its partners, and the needs and aspirations of the users of those spaces, both residents and visitors alike.
It analyses supply and demand and draws together a set of standards for how parks and green spaces should be provided, maintained and improved, in order to deliver our vision.
The strategy then applies this vision and standards to an action plan of priorities. These actions may identify opportunities for redressing green space deficiencies or surpluses, assist with the planning process, determine how maintenance resources are allocated, or highlight which green spaces are most in need of improvement schemes.
The main aim of the strategy is to gain a clear understanding of the Borough's existing parks and green spaces, to fully appreciate the current and future needs of local communities and stakeholders, and to provide a strategic framework for the effective provision and care of the green space network.
