We want Stapleford to be a great place to live and that means investment in making sure people have access to facilities which help them have active, healthy, enjoyable lifestyles.

We want to promote cohesion through an inclusive and sustainable space for communities to participate in wellbeing activities and bring people together and help them stay active.

A new community building and young people’s centre will be a place where people can dance, cook, create or attend meetings and events. It will create a collaboration and co-location between existing community centres allowing future development sites to be released, meeting the need of the existing community uses as well as future needs.

Not only will it support improvements in mental health and wellbeing linked to participation in sports and recreation activities it will help decrease crime and anti-social behaviour.

The plans also include a new Community Outreach Worker. This role will engage with the whole community, supporting individuals’ progression through skills and educational attainment as well as linking in with local employment opportunities.
