Broxtowe Holiday Activities and Food Programme 2021

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme offers free holiday club places to young people.

HAF Programme Summer 2021

During the summer holidays the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, funded by the Department for Education, will be offering free activities to children and young people in Nottinghamshire, as well as free healthy meals, and information about nutrition.

Activities will be taking place during the below weeks:

  • Monday 2 - Friday 6 August
  • Monday 9 - Friday 13 August
  • Monday 16 - Friday 20 August
  • Monday 23 - Friday 27 August

Who is Eligible?

Those children and young people aged 5-16 who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals are also eligible for a free place on the Holiday Activities and Food programme. More details for eligibility are available here, under ‘Qualifying Benefits’ (Opens in a New Window).

What's Included?

Each eligible child or young person will be able to access 4 days provision per week. Each provider will offer:

  • One meal during the session
  • Enjoyable activities. These vary from provider to provider but may include creative, enriching or physical activities
  • Socialising and friendly spaces to build relationships
  • Guidance and signposting for parents and carers to support your family

Activities Available

Eastwood Community Football

Eastwood CFC Summer Sports Activity Camps on each day will include fun, enriching sports and physical activities. Football to Athletics we will cater for all requirements.

Throughout each week they will also be joined by different individuals with elite sporting backgrounds ranging from professional athletes to sports nutritionists. Each day the children will be provided with healthy sports based nutritional meal that meets school food standards.Two children playing football

Sessions will run from 2nd August to 27th August on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for ages 5-10 and 11-15 years.

Transform Training Holiday Activity and Food Programme

Transform Training are providing a varied, exciting programme of activities including: Music and art workshops, creative art and life skills, street dance and football sessions as well as visits to a City Farm and a Cinema trip.

Sessions will run from 4th August to 26th August.

Premier Education Holiday Activity and Food Programme

The Premier Education holiday camp will be multi activity based. Children will take part in a range of different fun activities including archery, dodgeball, football, basketball, athletics and cricket. Health and nutrition sessions and life skills sessions will also be available.

Lunch will be provided. The camp will be based on having fun in a safe, welcoming environment! 

Sessions will run from 2nd August to 27th August for ages 5-11 and will take place at Kimberley Village Hall, Round Hill Primary School and Hollywell Primary School.

Holiday Activity and Food Programme - Motorised Lego Model Building and Clay Creations

Chilwell Olympia have been given access to run their own programme this summers with kits supplied by Clay Creators and Bricks 4 Kidz.

Bricks 4 Kidz provide model palns to build motorised  models using Lego Techni, enabling children to bring some of their favourite themes to life. It's a great STEM based activity and inspires imaginations of all ages.

Clay Creators allow children to build modeling using using air-drying ''Creator Clay'' with lots of different themes on offer, plus any unused clay can be taken home too. As with any Clay Creators kit, all the clay models your child creates, they can take home and keep.

It's a truly amazing fun packed event. They have different levels of model plans, so whatever the age or skill level of your child, there's a plan for them.

Sessions will take place on Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays and Friday running 10am-2.00pm.

HAF at Home

HAF at Home Kit including recipe books and sports equipment

If you are unable to access face to face provision, you can access HAF at Home (Opens in a New Window). This offer will allow you to pick up a food and activity pack from your local Children's Centre weekly. 

Nutrition

The programme also provides information on nutrition which you can also take part in from home!
