Standing as a Candidate
A briefing for prospective candidates and agents will be held on Thursday 23 March at 6:00pm on the New Council Chamber, Town Hall, Foster Avenue, Beeston.

There have been changes to the boundaries for the Nottinghamshire County Council electoral divisions since the last elections in 2013. For more information on the new boundaries, please click here.
Deadline to register to vote at the County Council Elections
Anyone who is not already registered to vote at their current address must register by Thursday 13 April 2017. Applicants can register online or can contact Electoral Services for an application form.
Deadline to apply for a Postal Vote at the County Council Election and Despatch Dates
Applications to apply to vote by post must be received by 5:00pm on Tuesday 18 April 2017.

Your postal vote must be received by 10:00pm on Thursday 4 May 2017 to be counted. The completed pack that you return to us must include:
- Your completed ballot paper,
- Your security statement, which must include your signature and your date of birth. If you do not sign the security statement, or provide a date other than your date of birth, for example, the date you signed the statement, your postal vote will not be counted.
Deadline to apply for a Proxy Vote at the County Council Elections
If you are unable to vote yourself at the polling station, you can appoint someone to place your vote as your proxy. Applications to apply for a proxy vote must be received by 5:00pm on Tuesday 25 April 2017.
We will send your nominated proxy a poll card that will allow them to vote on your behalf at your polling station on Thursday 4 May 2017. Your proxy can apply to vote by post on your behalf but they must complete an application form and submit it by the postal voting deadline, which is 5:00pm on Tuesday 18 April 2017.
