The Age of Active Living
During October 2019, we hosted our 'The Age of Active Living' events to celebrate International Older Persons Day on 1st October.
The events gave people the opportunity to find out more about our Independent Living Service. Officers were on hand to discuss the service and how to apply to be considered for the accommodation. Visitors were also able to view the facilities and accommodation. Our Lifeline Co-ordinator also attended to discuss all areas of the Lifeline service.
Our Activities Co-ordinators provided samples of the social activities they organised within our communal facilities, including Chair Based Exercises, Boccia, Craft Sessions and Blast from the Past. Activities are available for all Independent Living tenants to take part in and developed around tenants requirements.
We are delighted that partner organisations joined us for the events to showcase the support and advice they provide to help older people maintain their independence and keep active. These organisations included Everyone Health, Broxtowe Women’s Project (Opens in a New Window), Citizens Advice (Opens in a New Window) and Crimestoppers. (Opens in a New Window)
