Salary:£20,015 - £21,331 per annum

From thinking on your feet when dealing with media enquiries and being confident and creative on social media, to improving our website to make it easier for residents to use and delivering targeted marketing campaigns, every day is different working in the Corporate Communications team at Broxtowe Borough Council.

We want to make a difference for our residents at a time when communications is changing rapidly and this role will work with teams across the Council to produce engaging content across a range of channels, with a focus on digital.

You’ll need great verbal and written communication skills to meet a range of different audiences and the ability to manage a demanding workload.

We are also looking for someone who will always work to high standards and who wants the opportunity to grow and develop their own skills.

You should have appropriate marketing or communications qualifications e.g. degree, CIPR or CIM or relevant experience.

We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

  • Writing content for a range of channels including press releases, publications e-newsletters and web content
  • Dealing with media enquiries
  • Marketing
  • Utilising social media channels
  • Analysing website and social media statistics
  • Website content editing
  • Creating online forms
  • Producing graphics and videos

The ideal candidate would:

  • Be highly motivated, organised and able to work under pressure and meet expected deadlines
  • Creative and willing to bring new ideas to the team
  • Invested in their own learning and able to learn quickly
  • Have strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Be a team player
  • Work on their own initiative
  • Be aware of new developments and technologies
  • Have excellent communication skills to build good customer relationships
  • Have previous Local Government Experience (desirable)
  • Be forward thinking, flexible and innovative
