Post Ref: C65 - ICT Technical Solutions Officer

Salary: £25,827 - £27,343 per annum, Grade 8.

To support the Council’s established technologies and the implementation of technical solutions. To ensure that a consistent and professional level of service is maintained in the delivery of the ICT Service and associated solutions, that communication with and advice given to our customers is maintained and developed and that all projects/ tasks meet their deadlines and are delivered to the correct standard and quality.

To succeed in this role, you must have an excellent technical understanding of modern ICT environments and be able to translate business requirements into effective and robust technical solutions in order to deliver continuous improvement building on existing successful platforms. Your ability to interpret and articulate business ICT requirements should be matched by a sound technical knowledge base of ICT and its applications.

What you need to know:

Flexibility will be required from time to time to address the support service and project delivery requirements of the role (e.g. occasional evenings and weekends).

Candidates must be physically able to move and install equipment.

Candidates must be willing to use own car, or the ability to travel between council buildings within the borough. Partnership working at neighbouring Councils may also be required occasionally.

Candidates who are shortlisted for interview will be required to complete both a written and a practical test. These will be carried out on the day of the interview and results will form part of the assessment process.
