Salary: £23,707 - £25,175 per annum - Grade 7

We are looking for a self-motivated individual, with a progressive approach to join our busy Accountancy Team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified accountant, with great prospects for personal development and progression as part of a multidisciplinary finance team. Support for studying CCAB accountancy qualification is available.

You must be able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and computerised finance systems. It is essential that you can work to regular and conflicting deadlines, demonstrating a high level of attention to detail, and be capable of a high level of sustained concentration to use data accurately.

You must possess excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both as part of a team, and unsupervised.

You will contribute to budget setting process and subsequent budget monitoring and assist in resolving any queries raised by front line budget holders. You will also provide support to your team colleagues which will include the Accounts Payable function.  The Council is developing its financial systems therefore there is also the opportunity to contribute to its successful implementation.  You will also undertake work for the completion of the Statement of Accounts.
