Post Ref: H317 - Senior Communities Officer (Violence and Domestic Abuse)

Salary: £27,001 - £28,587 per annum. Working 37 hrs per week.

Broxtowe Borough Council are looking to recruit an individual who has experience in:

  • Implementing a variety of projects simultaneously to reduce Domestic Abuse and Violence including Knife Crime
  • Working in a team and managing staff whilst also working closely with teams from other organisations
  • Working under pressure to deadlines and manage conflicting priorities from a variety of sources
  • Making considered decisions
  • Using a wide range of communication and personal skills to build excellent relationships and engage with agencies and all sectors of the community

The ideal candidate would be:

  • A passionate professional able to successfully produce, monitor and deliver action plans to improve the safety of residents across the borough
  • Enthusiastic, highly self-motivated and able to work in a team alongside managing staff
  • Able to work on their own initiative possessing good planning and organisational skills and demonstrating a practical approach to problem solving
  • Confident in representing the Council both locally and regionally in relation to Violence and Domestic Abuse
  • Able to effectively communicate with the general public, partner agencies and Members of the Council in a tactful and confident manner
  • Someone who keeps accurate records which are compliant with data protection and GDPR
  • Someone who represents our GREAT values and behaviours

 What you need to know:

Candidates must successfully undergo the vetting process by Nottinghamshire Police as the role is based within Police Stations.

You must be able to travel across the borough and county and work flexibly as out of hours work may be required based on service delivery needs.

You will be required to complete a test as part of the interview.
