Post Ref: H321 - Neighbourhood Assistant

Salary: £19,239 - £20,393 per annum - Grade 4. Full time 37 hours per week.

Broxtowe Borough Council is looking to recruit to the new role of Neighbourhood Assistant to help deliver and improve its Housing Neighbourhood Management service.  As part of the Neighbourhood Assistant role, you will have regular contact with customers that hold tenancies with the Council and provide assistance to the wider Neighbourhoods Team in delivering the housing management service.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide assistance to the delivery of the housing management service and the other officers within the team, who will be routinely visiting customers on site visits. You will play a key role in helping with the day to day running of the team in a variety of different aspects.  Whether this be assisting with correspondence received or being sent by the team or by having face to face contact with customers, such as completing tenancy sign ups with tenants. The challenges within the role will be varied and there will also be opportunities to work closely with other teams within the Council to gain further knowledge and experience.

This role is an opportunity to join a housing team or take your first steps in what could be a new career.  We are looking for someone who can show the behaviours and attributes consistent with our GREAT values and therefore experience of working in a housing team is not essential.

The ideal candidate would be:

  • Able to manage their own work
