Post Ref: H39 - Homeownership and Performance Manager

Salary: Up to £31,261. 37 hours per week.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Housing Services and Strategy team.

We are looking for a Homeownership and Performance Manager to join our small, eclectic team of housing professionals who specialise in the following areas:

  • Homeownership, including Right to Buy administration and Leasehold Management
  • Property acquisitions
  • Housing performance
  • Housing land and boundary queries

This is a proactive role and you will be providing expert technical advice and support to customers and colleagues in all leasehold, right to buy, acquisitions and performance matters.

You will also need to have strong ICT skills, an understanding of issues within Housing and how to obtain and utilise best practice.  

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and supporting the team to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensuring that an efficient and effective management service is provided to leaseholders.
  • Overseeing the administration of the Right to Buy scheme.
  • Monitoring the performance of the Housing Service and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Carrying out benchmarking exercises and completing Central Government statistical returns.
  • Acquiring properties to support the Housing Delivery Plan.
  • Co-ordinating the collection and reporting of customer satisfaction data.

The ideal candidate would be able to:

  • Manage, delegate, lead and motivate staff ensuring that deadlines are met and standards are maintained.
  • Confidently complete statistical analysis of large datasets, identifying and investigating anomalies.
  • Take a creative approach to relationship-building and problem solving.
  • Work under pressure and handle competing priorities to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, internal colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Investigate and resolve complaints about service delivery, with the ability to learn from them to drive customer satisfaction.

Given the wide remit of the role, it is not expected that the successful candidate will have experience in all of the areas, but significant experience in either performance management, leasehold management or home ownership is required alongside a willingness to learn and develop their understanding of the other areas of responsibility.
