Salary: £21,399 - £22,658 pro rata per annum. 18.5 hours per week

Are you passionate about supporting volunteers and customers?  Can your knowledge and understanding of mediation and local authority housing provide the skills needed to deliver an essential service for customers?  If so, Broxtowe Borough Council’s Housing Department has an exciting opportunity for you.  We are recruiting for an approachable, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join our Engagement Team to support volunteers, working with customers to resolve cases of neighbour nuisance.

About the role

As the Mediation Co-ordinator you will be the first point of contact for the Mediation Service and will deal with all enquiries from potential volunteers, customers and agencies. You will ensure that volunteer mediators are recruited and developed, along with overseeing their day-to-day supervision to enable them to carry out their role effectively.

You will be responsible for ensuring that the Mediation Service operates within nationally recognised best practice guidelines, overseeing the assessment of volunteer mediators and co-ordinating the processes for external assessment and certification of their competence. Through this role you will be able to undertake periodic reviews of the service and prepare reports to inform service developments.

This is a part time role and the days and hours of work will be agreed with the successful candidate. Ideally the hours would be spread over five days.
