Post Ref: L71 - Senior Solicitor/Legal Executive P/T

Salary: £33,780 - £35,523 pro rata per annum. 22 hours per week

This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in a legal career in local government.

This role is for a Senior Solicitor/Legal Executive. The successful candidate must be well organised, articulate with good communication skills and willing to work as part of a team, although sufficiently able to carry their own case load. Experience in court advocacy is essential. Experience in the public sector is desirable although not essential.

The areas of work covered in the role include:

Litigation

  • Preparing and conducting both criminal and civil proceedings in the Magistrates Court and County Court.
  • Drafting and advising on planning enforcement, anti-social behaviour, licensing, employment and housing law issues.

Non-Litigation

  • Drafting land transfers, leases and other land law issues to include boundary disputes.

Committees

  • Attendance as adviser to Committees including Alcohol & Entertainment Committee and Licensing and Appeals Committee and Planning Committee et
