Post Ref: M1 - Monitoring Officer

Salary: Up to £56,062 per annum - Grade CO2

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will be a key member of the Senior Management Team and your main role will be to ensure good governance, transparency, equality, fairness and adherence to the Nolan Principles of Public Life. This will include oversight of the Council’s Constitution, Committees and the Council.

The post holder will need to provide robust clear legal advice and have a detailed knowledge and experience of local authority law. You will need to demonstrate significant enthusiasm, vitality and strong and proven leadership skills. You will be able to think and act strategically at a consistently high level, provide an appropriate degree of challenge and scrutiny and be able to make effective decisions at a fast pace. 

The post holder will also be responsible for providing advice, guidance and oversight of the Council’s Legal Services Department.
