Salary: £24,359 - £25,867 - Grade 7

We are looking for a creative individual to work within a dynamic team taking a leading role within the development and delivery of services to support Broxtowe’s economy.

Working closely with a wide range of partners, you will welcome change and the opportunity to develop new initiatives, ensuring that Broxtowe remains an excellent location for business start-up, expansion and growth. You should have a sound knowledge of economic development in particular concerning training, business development, national and locally based regeneration policies and initiatives. You will need enthusiasm, good organisation and communication skills and should be educated to degree level or equivalent with a proven capability in information technology.

The role requires project coordination and management skills in order to enhance and extend the range of Economic Development activities undertaken within the Borough with particular reference to inward investment, enterprise and business support.

Responsible to the Regeneration Project Manager you will be expected to assist in the delivery of the following key tasks:

  • Actively place market Broxtowe as a business destination of choice
  • Keep up to date with local and national initiatives and where appropriate bid for external funding opportunities
  • Strengthen and develop partnerships to attract external funding and add value to existing programmes
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of Broxtowe’s Economic Regeneration Strategy and action programmes.
  • Monitor, research and analyse local socio-economic trends
  • Work with other agencies to promote training, business advice and support services;
  • Contribute to the management of business grant schemes supporting town centre and industrial improvements.

Broxtowe is a diverse area to the west of Nottingham, including urban, rural and former coalfield towns and villages. The borough is home to a wide range of businesses including leading telecommunication and pharmaceutical companies. The University of Nottingham is nearby and the area is a seed bed for high growth, high technology firms.
