Post Ref: S1 - Strategic Director

Salary: Up to £73,768 per annum - Grade CO3

Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will join the senior management team and you will effectively lead, manage and develop the Environment, ICT, Administration, Communications and Civic Office services to ensure that these essential services deliver high quality and high performing, customer focused services. You will also perform the functions of the statutory Chief Information Officer.

Your role will be to drive changes which will help the Council’s teams deliver our priorities and actions. You will be a skilled senior manager who has a developed good knowledge of budgets, programme delivery and the political landscape. You will have experience across a diverse range of front-line services, with expertise in change and transformation and a successful track record of developing business strategies and delivering successful outcomes.

You will have excellent communication skills and be able to influence others and to drive performance via motivation beyond factual arguments through the effective engagement of the Council’s staff and partners. Above all, you will be a leader who promotes and encourages a culture of staff empowerment and who champions our customers.
