Salary: Up to £39,966 per annum

Broxtowe Borough Council owns and manages over 4000 properties to the west of Nottingham. We have a mix of general needs, independent living and leasehold properties which we maintain using our own 40 strong DLO with the support of specialist external contractors.

We are currently looking for an experienced maintenance professional with sound knowledge of social housing to lead and manage our responsive maintenance and compliance teams.

In this role, you will develop and oversee the delivery of the Strategic Housing Asset Management Plan in liaison with our Capital Works team ensuring that we effectively manage our assets. You will directly oversee the compliance team, ensuing that regulatory and good practice standards are consistently achieved in relation to gas and electrical safety, legionella and asbestos across the housing stock. 

Supported by an Assistant Manager who has operational responsibility for the DLO you will ensure that key performance targets are achieved and exceeded across the teams. You will have extensive budgetary management and be able to achieve value for money through effective procurement practices with external suppliers and contractors.

As a member of the Senior Housing Management Team you will ensure delivery of the Housing Business Plan and be responsible for implementing innovative strategies for delivering and improving services within a repairs and maintenance environment.

Strong management skills are essential and you must have experience of working within a housing repairs service.

We are looking for a high calibre person to fulfil this role. You will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and hold a surveying or equivalent professional qualification. You will have great communication skills and be capable of engaging and motivating dispersed teams to provide excellent services to customers.
