Post Ref: T297 - Street Cleansing Operative

Salary: £19,296 per annum - Grade 3. 37 hours per week.

We require a permanent Street Cleansing Operative to work within our busy cleansing section. The roles will entail working within a small team with the requirement to carry out a number of physical tasks i.e. emptying/servicing dog/litter bins, walking long distances, collecting/loading items onto the van, clearing fly tipping, litter picking.

In addition, a key element of the role will be covering as a Refuse Collector when required.

Good customer care skills and team work are essential with the ability to work in all weather conditions.

The hours are 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday 6am – 2pm (6 – 1:30pm on Fridays). The teams are based at Kimberley depot and work in small teams across the borough.

Successful applicants will be entitled to 27 days’ holiday (30 after 5 years) in addition to UK Public Bank holidays. As a valuable part of the Council`s pay and reward package employees are able to join The Local Government Pension Scheme.

There is a driving element to the post therefore all applicants must hold a full Driving Licence
