Broxtowe Borough Council is looking to recruit a Neighbourhood Co-ordinator to help deliver and improve its Housing Neighbourhood Management Service. As a Neighbourhood Co-ordinator, your role will include daily contact with customers and you will assist them with their housing and tenancy issues.
You will manage tenancies and tenancy issues, an anti-social behaviour caseload and you will also manage a patch neighbourhood within the Borough. The key focus of the team and the role is to improve the quality of neighbourhoods, to sustain tenancies, to effectively engage with customers to improve housing services and to deal effectively with issues of anti-social behaviour that may arise.
You will work as part of team of Neighbourhood Coordinators delivering this service. The ability to work as part of a team but also to manage your own caseload is important, particularly as the role will spend a lot of time lone working in the community.
You will need to work closely with other departments and agencies to achieve positive results for customers and to improve neighbourhoods and you will also need to be able to communicate effectively with customers, both verbally and in writing, some of whom will be suffering difficulties because of their personal circumstances. Therefore, an ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences and build relationships is important.
We’re looking for an individual who has proven experience of:
- Working in a housing department or related setting
- Working with customers
- Working with vulnerable people
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience of managing their own caseload
- Experience of working under pressure and with constantly changing priorities
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
- The ability to show they can represent our GREAT values and behaviours
Full training will be given to candidates with transferable skills and the ability and willingness to learn.
