Salary: £23,242 - £24,681 pro rata per annum. 21.5 hours per week. Maternity cover for up to one year.

Are you confident, organised and committed? Do you have excellent event management and communications skills? From managing the Mayor’s diary to organising a wide range of high profile events, no day is the same in this unique and interesting job.

You will be at the forefront of an all-year round programme of civic engagement including facilitating a wide range of civic, charity and corporate events for the Council and providing support to the Mayor in carrying out an extensive number of engagements each year.

Our events programme includes important public events like Remembrance and military parades, as well as community events and and a black tie Charity Dinner.

Applicants should have relevant experience or an appropriate qualification.

We’re looking for an individual who has experience in:

  • Event management
  • Diary management
  • Dealing with high level officials and dignitaries
  • Working with the local community

The ideal candidate would be:

  • a strong communicator, committed to providing a high standard of customer care to a range of customers, including dignitaries
  • highly organised
  • creative and able to problem solve
  • able to work to their own initiative to meet deadlines
  • able to work within a team
  • have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail

The hours of work are 21.5 hours per week but this is not a 9 to 5 post and you must be flexible and prepared to work outside of normal office hours, including some weekends and evenings.
