Post Ref: TMPL14 - Temporary Part Time Scrutiny/Democratic Services Assistant

Salary: £18,724 - £19,847 pro rata per annum. Maternity cover for up to 12 months. 22 hours per week.

An opportunity exists to join our democratic services team for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave. If you are well organised and methodical, have good written and oral communication skills and are looking for a new challenge then this is the ideal opportunity.

The main duties will involve arranging and attending meetings, preparing agendas, reports and minutes, in addition to supporting the Council’s complaints and Freedom of Information services. There will also be an opportunity to become involved in other areas of work including electoral services.

Whilst previous local government committee experience would be a distinct advantage we welcome applications from people who have been involved in similar work and who can learn new skills quickly.

As the majority of meetings are held during the evening you should be prepared to work out of normal office hours. Time off in lieu or paid overtime will be given for the additional hours.
