About the opportunity

Do you have an interest in history or literature? Do you enjoy talking to people? The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is looking for meet and greet volunteers to give a warm welcome to our visitors. You will be part of a small and friendly team, taking care of the house where the famous writer was born. There is no minimum amount that you are required to come in and shifts are available from Tuesday to Saturday; volunteers would ideally need to be able to offer their time between 11am and 3pm.

About the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum

This authentically recreated miner’s cottage is the birthplace of world renowned Nottinghamshire author D.H. Lawrence. This charming, award-winning museum also includes a gift shop and an exhibition area which features pieces such as his original water colour paintings and his headstone! The museum is run by LLeisure Ltd.

  • Cleaning and conservation of artefacts

What are we looking for?

A friendly face to be the first point of contact for our visitors. There will be the opportunity to help out with some of our other activities if you would like to but this is not essential. Part of the role includes using a computerized till; full training is given.
