A new Mayor takes up office each year in Broxtowe and they attend over 400 events during a year in office.
These events range from the very formal occasions where the Mayor represents the people of Broxtowe at official openings, launches, at cheque presentations, or attending Council funded events like play-schemes, sports functions and charity events. The Mayor will also visit Broxtowe residents on special occasions such as golden weddings and other significant anniversaries and birthdays. The Civic Office was named Civic Office of the Year 2012.
Councillor Halimah Khaled MBE was installed as the 41st Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe at the annual meeting of Broxtowe Borough Council held in May 2017.
