Hucknall Man Admitted Littering Offence

2/8/2016 - A man from Hucknall was handed a £322.50 fine after he admitted an offence under Section 33 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Mark Tongue, 55, of West Terrace, Hucknall entered a guilty plea at a hearing at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on 15th July after he knowingly deposited domestic waste illegally on Narrow Lane, Watnall.

In mitigation, Mr Tongue said as he dumped the rubbish next to a public bin he thought this would be sufficient and was not illegal.

The Magistrates accepted his guilty plea and acknowledged it was his first offence. He was ordered to pay a total of £322.50 which included a fine, payment of the Council's costs and victim surcharge.
