A Very Victorian Christmas at Lawrence Museum

A Very Victorian Christmas at Lawrence Museum

25/11/2016 - Christmas tradition will be on offer aplenty at the D.H Lawrence Birthplace Museum this December as their annual Victorian Christmas activities return for 2016.

Visitors who come along for a tour will be in for a festive twist as the Museum's experienced guides share stories of Victorian Christmas traditions like 'stir-up Sunday'.

From wreath and candles, to traditional handmade paper decorations, a guided tour will get visitors ready for Christmas!

The museum will be decorated for Christmas from 1st - 22nd December, so you can get in the Christmas spirit just by booking onto a standard tour with one of our team.

After your guided tour there will be a chance to make yourself a small paper decoration in the museum shop after your tour to take home with you.

The museum gift shop will also be open selling unusual gifts, traditional toys and stocking fillers for all ages to help get your Christmas shopping underway.

The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is an award winning visitor attraction in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire (not far from junction 26 of the M1 and the IKEA retail park).  It combines D.H. Lawrence's authentically recreated childhood home, with an exhibition space celebrating the author's life, work and humble beginnings. From here you can also explore the surrounding countryside, which inspired his work.

The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. For up to date admission prices and tour times, please contact the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum on the details provided.
