Sights of Broxtowe on Show at Birmingham Exhibition

06/10/2016 - A Birmingham photography exhibition will showcase the sights of Broxtowe this month, as two local artists display their photographs of the Borough.

One of the exhibits, 'Artificially Real' comes from Broxtowe Borough Council's very own Waste and Recycling Co-ordinator, Emma Georgiou who is a photographic artist in her spare time. 'Artificially Real' focuses on a Remote Control race track located near Newthorpe  although these images form part of her wider 'Lunchtime Walk series; a body of work documenting her exploration of the local landscape during her lunch breaks away from Kimberley Depot.

There are also images Bramcote Hills courtesy of George Miles. These pictures were made at Bramcote Hills on the site of the former municipal golf course about two years after it closed. They show the land quietly reverting back to its natural state.

The exhibition, entitled East Meets West 2.0 opens at The Waterhall, Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery on Thursday 6th October until Friday 6th January 2017.
