Broxtowe Pre-election Briefings For Parliamentary Candidates

21/04/2017 - Prospective candidates and their agents are being given the chance to find out more about the elections process at a pre-election briefing.

Broxtowe Borough Council will host the briefing to share information about the forthcoming Parliamentary Election, including the election timetable, nomination process, opening of postal votes and count arrangements.

The briefing for candidates in the Broxtowe Constituency will take place at 6.00pm on Tuesday 2nd May in the New Council Chamber, Town Hall, Beeston.

A separate briefing will take place for candidates wishing to stand in the Ashfield Constituency at Ashfield District Council Offices on Wednesday 3rd May at 5.00pm.

The Prime Minister called a General Election earlier this week which will take place on Thursday 8th June 2017.

 To stand for election, candidates must be over 18 years of age, be a British citizen or citizen of a Commonwealth country or the Republic of Ireland.
