Broxtowe Voters Urged To Register For County Council Elections

Broxtowe Voters Urged To Register For County Council Elections

01/03/2017 Elections to Nottinghamshire County Council will take place in May and Broxtowe Borough Council is urging residents to make sure they’re registered so they can have their say.

The elections will take place on Thursday 4th May and anyone who eligible to vote has until Thursday 13th April to register.

If you are eligible to vote in the election and are already registered, there’s no need to register again.

Registering is simple to complete in just a few minutes online at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote or check if you are on the register or not at www.broxtowe.gov.uk/registrationcheck.

Broxtowe residents are advised to plan in advance where they will be on polling day. If they are likely to be away and unable to get to a polling station they can look at options for postal or proxy votes. There is also a change to a polling station  in Chilwell West where voters will need to go to Chilwell Community Centre and not St Barnabas Church.

Being on the electoral register is important not only to enable people to vote, but also when applying for things like a credit card or a mortgage as this can help validate information you provide.

For more information, please contact Broxtowe Borough Council on the details provided.
