Cossall Plans For The Future

Cossall Plans For The Future

16/10/17 Residents in Cossall are set to play a major role in the future planning of Cossall after an application was submitted for the designation of a new Neighbourhood Area.

Broxtowe Borough Council received an application from Cossall Parish Council for the designation of the Parish of Cossall as a Neighbourhood Area. This is the first step in the Neighbourhood Plan for the area and sets out the ground the plan will cover.

Neighbourhood planning gives local people a greater opportunity to shape development in their area and allows them to plan for the type of houses, businesses and green spaces they want to help it thrive.

Local people are invited to have their say on these proposals as part of an online consultation which can be found on the Council's website.

The consultation will run from Monday 16th October until 5pm Friday 17th November 2017.

A Neighbourhood Plan can give communities a strong voice in the planning system because if successful, they form part of the statutory development plan and must be taken into consideration by Broxtowe Borough Council when determining planning applications.

The application follows those made by a number of Town and Parish Councils in the Borough over the past few years.

Residents can also submit their views via email at policy@broxtowe.gov.uk or in writing to Planning Policy Team, Broxtowe Borough Council, Council Offices, Foster Avenue, Beeston, Nottinghamshire, NG9 1AB.
