Eastwood Christmas Lights Switch On Line Up Announced

13/11/18 - THIS YEAR’S LINE UP FOR Eastwood’s Christmas Lights Switch On has been announced with a packed programme to help you get in the Christmas spirit.

The event will take place on Tuesday 27th November between 6.00pm and 8.00pm along Nottingham Road from Plumptre Way up to Mansfield Road.

The headline sponsors, Oliver’s Pub and Kitchen are instrumental in ensuring that this popular event is going to be as exciting as ever. The line-up includes live music, mulled wine and plenty of hot food.

There will also be:

  • Light switch on ceremony in a new location for 2018. Join the Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Derek Burnett BEM and Mayor of Eastwood, Pat Hamilton as they switch on the lights at 6.30pm on the main stage on Alexandra Street.
  • Live entertainment, festive stalls and street entertainers.
  • Firework display finale at 8.00pm
  • The main stage will be located on Alexandra Street, where you’ll find a fantastic selection of live entertainment to get you in the festive mood.
  • Second stage in Eastwood Square
  • Santa’s Grotto at Lawrence Veterinary Centre Fairy
  • Fairy Grotto at D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum
  • The Wellington Pub will host live Music after the main event.
  • Fun, family entertainment will be provided at the Library Acoustic Bar.
  • All ABOARD! There’ll be a land train driving through the town and stopping at Scargill Walk and Eastwood Library.
  • Arts and Crafts area full of gifts in Scargill Walk car park.
  • Boyes, alongside other local businesses will also be open throughout the event. Pop in and say hello.

The event has been organised by LLeisure in conjunction with Broxtowe Borough Council and with support from headline Sponsors Oliver’s Pub and Kitchen, as well as Boyes and Eastwood Town Council.

Please note there will be a road closure in place from 6pm to 9pm on Nottingham Road, at which point no vehicle movement will be allowed from Plumptre Way to Mansfield Road as well as a road closure from 9am to 11pm on Alexandra Street between Nottingham Road and Devonshire Drive.
