Get Into The Festive Spirit At Kimberley Christmas Market
The market, on Sunday 25th November, will take place from James Street, across to Toll Bar Square, Kimberley Parish Hall and up to Newdigate Street from 10.00am until 4.00pm.
The event has been organised in partnership between a number of local people including Madhatters, local residents Sue Whitehead, Gloria Morgan and Councillor Mel Crow, with support from sponsors Watsons Estate Agents, as well as Broxtowe Borough Council, who have contributed £750 towards the market.
Nygel Stevenson from Madhatters said: “After opening Madhatters in February 2012, I held my first Christmas market in a restaurant in the November with 12 stalls. The following few years, I moved it into the parish hall, sometimes holding three a year, March, August and November. The November one was always the busiest, so I now concentrate on that.
Each year, we have had a different nominated charity for the day, but this year and now every year going forward, we are working with Nuthall Christmas Lights to raise money for Nottingham University Hospitals Charity (including Hayward House) along with Wish upon a star.
In 2017, we extended to market onto the streets and it was such a success we have done the same this year, as well as also extending onto Toll Bar Square and offering over 60 stalls, live entertainment and free Santa Claus in the newly opened Whitebeam Photography studio. Local businesses get involved by opening up on the day, a HUGE shout out to Watsons estate agents by financially sponsoring the event, enabling more advertising and entertainment, as well as Broxtowe Borough Council who have helped us make the event bigger and better than ever.”
Anyone visiting can visit the Kimberley Christmas Market website (Opens in a New Window) to download an event map with a full list of stalls.
Please note that road closures are in place during the day so there may be some traffic disruption.
