28 Electric Vehicle Charging Points Installed In Broxtowe
“Protecting the environment is such an important thing so we’re really pleased to see these electric charging points installed in Broxtowe Borough Council car parks. We’ve been working closely with Nottingham City Council on this project and hope to roll out more initiatives around sustainability” said Councillor Greg Marshall, Chair of the Community Safety Committee.
The charging points are located at:
- Portland Street car park, Beeston, NG9 2LQ - 8 charging points
- Victoria Street car park, Eastwood, NG16 3AW – 8 charging points
- Victoria Street car park, Kimberley, NG16 2NH – 4 charging points
- Cliffe Hill Avenue car park, Stapleford, NG9 7HD - 8 charging points
Electric vehicle drivers can access the charge points using an app or RFID card. Residents and businesses with a postcode in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Derby or Derbyshire can register online at www.chargeyourcar.org.uk/d2n2 for a D2N2 card to take advantage of a reduced tariff of 20p per Kilowatt when using D2N2 charge points.
Electric vehicle owners who are already on the national POLAR network can also access the charge points via their app or RFID card.
The Government funded Go Ultra Low Cities Project across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire is committed to developing and growing an electric vehicle charging network across the region for local citizens and visitors to the city.
As part of this project £2 million is being invested in creating public accessible vehicle charging infrastructure network. Nottingham City Council, working in partnership with Nottinghamshire Councils and Derbyshire Councils, will see over 200 charging points installed across the region. These will be a mix of fast and rapid charge points at council owned car and other strategic locations such as public transport interchanges and retail outlets.
