Let’s Make Eastwood Comics

Aged 11-25? Like being creative? Ever thought about creating your own comic book? The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum are running 5 FREE zine-making taster days where you can learn writing and illustration techniques and make your own comic zine with professional illustrators Selina Lock, Jay Eales and Caroline Parkinson.

Eastwood Comics event advertParticipate in a guided comic workshop and have the opportunity to explore stories relating to Eastwood, learning how varied and personal comic book creation can be.

 “This is going to be a great and fun way for young people to explore their creativity”, Carolyn Melbourne, Museum and Collections Officer.

Workshops are free and lunch and basic materials are provided, but you are welcome to bring along some of your own art, photographs, writing, poetry you would like to include in the zine.

Workshops run 11am till 3pm on 31st July, 7th August, 14th August, 21st August and 24th October.

The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is an award winning visitor attraction in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. It combines D.H. Lawrence’s authentically recreated childhood home, with an exhibition and gallery space celebrating the author’s life, work and humble beginnings. From here you can also explore the surrounding countryside, which inspired his work. 

The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Facilities include a charming gift shop, tea and coffee, and a picnic area.
