Spooktacular success for Eastwood
The half-term went out with a bang with Eastwood Spooktacular Fireworks. Over 1000 people attend Eastwood’s Coronation Park on Friday, 1st November, for the brand new event. The fire performers took visitors’ breaths away with their enchanted fire breathing skills and fire poi acts. The children who attended the Pumpkin Carving workshops at the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum were invited to showcase their pumpkins at the Pumpkin Parade. The Deputy Mayor of the Borough of Broxtowe, Councillor Janet Patrick, and the Mayor of Eastwood, Councillor Susan Bagshaw, also took part in the prestigious parade. The kids also enjoyed the fairground rides while the grown-ups kept warm with hot chocolate and coffee.
The evening was rounded off with the outstanding firework display everyone was waiting for; and it did not disappoint. Live music followed on from the firework finale in Eastwood Community Football Club from the fantastic Urban Intro.
‘It was a pleasure to be invited to the Spooktacular Fireworks display on 1st November, and to take part in the pumpkin parade. The children had carved out fantastic pumpkins and they were very proud to parade around Coronation park. The firework display was absolutely fantastic, the fire eaters were really good. There was a very large crowd and thankfully the rain held off. All in all a most enjoyable evening. Thanks to all the staff at Liberty Leisure for arranging this event.’- Susan Bagshaw, Eastwood Town Mayor.
The event was organised by LLeisure events with support from Eastwood Community Football Club.
