Hands On Half Term
We know the nights are drawing in and the weather isn’t too great either but this half term we’ve got you covered with 2 weeks of creative workshops for the kids to get stuck into.
Starting off on Thursday 24th October, a FREE Comic Book workshop from 11am-3pm for young people aged 11-25. This guided workshop led by comic book artists Selina Lock, Jay Eales and Caroline Parkinson will enable participants to create their very own zine!
Get creative with Spooktacular pumpkin carving workshops taking place from Tuesday 29th to Thursday 31st October either at 10.30am or 1.30pm in the museum’s secret garden. There’s no need to bring anything along, apart from a warm coat, as carving tools and templates are provided. Sessions are 2 hours long and cost £2.50 per child. All completed pumpkin designs will be entered into the Pumpkin Parade at the Eastwood Spectacular Firework event taking place on Friday 1st November. All Pumpkins are supplied by Mr Pumpkin.
On Friday 1st November we have the perfect workshop for little Lego lovers. Create amazing motorised models using Lego and Lego Technics to create fantastic fairgrounds, buildings and superheroes. With a huge selection of Lego available there is nothing the kids can’t create. As well as building Lego masterpieces there will also be games and activities to take part in. With loads of model plans to choose from there is something for everyone. Sessions are £4 per child (with an accompanying adult) and 1.5 hours long. Spaces are limited so please book to avoid missing out. Sessions are taking place at 10.00am and 1.30pm
On Saturday 2nd November your kids can create their own artwork from objects in the museum, and experiment with different materials. The workshop led by local artist Catherine Bostock is suitable for 8-13 year olds but anyone can join in. Materials will be supplied but you are welcome to being along some of your own artwork or favourite pictures as inspiration. The session is £4 per child with an accompanying adult. With only 10 spaces available make sure you book in quick to get a spot!
