D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum Heritage Open Day 2019

05/09/19 - 2019 marks the 25th year of Heritage Open Days and the D.H. Lawrence Museum is getting involved once again!

In line with the D.H. Lawrence Festival 2019 (31st August - 14th September) and Heritage Open Days (13th - 22nd September) the D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum will be opening its doors for FREE on Saturday 14th September! Enjoy a taster tour of the terraced house on Victoria Street in Eastwood and take part in the weekly washing experience in the Victorian Wash-house. 

You can also visit the ‘Blue Line and Beyond’ the fantastic exhibition currently underway in the museums changing gallery space. This exhibition has proved so popular that it has been extended from 31st August to 11th October!

Cultural Services Manager, Alex Khan said, “This is a great day out for the family which we are proud to be part of again in 2019” 

There is no need to pre book for this event, just turn up at the museum between 11am and 3pm (museum will close at 3:30pm).

Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history. The D.H. Lawrence Festival 2019 runs from Saturday 31st August to Sunday 14th September 2019 at a variety of locations across the borough of Broxtowe. The D.H. Lawrence Birthplace Museum is an award winning visitor attraction in Eastwood, Nottinghamshire. It combines D.H. Lawrence’s authentically recreated childhood home, with an exhibition and gallery space celebrating the author’s life, work and humble beginnings.
