Broxtowe businesses asked for views on the Borough’s recovery plan

01/07/20 - Broxtowe businesses are being urged to share their views to help shape the Borough’s approach to economic recovery and the impact of COVID-19 on future commercial operations.

Following an initial business survey earlier in June, Broxtowe Borough Council is now seeking insights from every business across the Borough to help it better understand the needs of the business community in terms of recovery.

To have their say, businesses should visit

“Helping our local businesses to get back on their feet is a top priority as we emerge from lockdown. We're keen to engage with every shop, service, and supplier to ensure that our recovery efforts are perfectly aligned with the needs of the business community,” said Councillor Tim Hallam, Chair of the Jobs and Economy Committee. Councillor Tim Hallam

“In the coming weeks we'll be phoning, visiting or writing to as many local businesses as possible, as well as providing a web link that anyone can access. Thank you in advance for engaging with us as we do our very best to help you through these difficult times,” he added.

Businesses from the high street, retail, office and industrial parks; market traders, to the self-employed and home workers all have the opportunity to shape the Council’s approach to economy recovery, by interacting with this Borough wide consultation.

Responses will help inform the Council in the preparation of a series of 'business related interventions', which are to be included in a wider COVID-19 Recovery Plan. The Recovery Plan will constantly evolve over time and using the data collected from businesses, will help the Council facilitate short, medium and long term actions, which will in turn help get all businesses ‘back on track’.

This survey is just one avenue the Council are pursuing in an attempt to contact every business in Broxtowe. The online survey will be supplemented with other forms of direct communication including telephone calls to those that don’t respond online.

This survey will remain open until at least 31st July 2020, but may be extended in order to obtain the largest and most valuable dataset, that proportionally represents the entire Broxtowe economy.

Businesses are also urged to share the link to this survey to ensure the entire business community’s voice is heard.
