Trick or treat or test and trace? Celebrate Halloween Safely

23/10/10 - As we head towards Halloween, residents in Broxtowe are being advised about how they can enjoy the festivities, whilst following the COVID-19 restrictions which are in place locally and nationally.

Broxtowe Borough Council is asking residents to do the right thing, to protect our community by not to going trick or treating or knocking on doors.

As well as protecting each other from the virus, some residents may be feeling particularly vulnerable or anxious at the moment so may not want to come into contact with others.Trick or Treat or Test or Trace? Lets keep other say with pumpkin image

It’s not about spoiling the fun, but we do all need to work together to stop the spread of the virus.

What you can do

You can still celebrate at home or virtually.

Here’s a few ideas of how you can still celebrate - you can also send your ideas to press@broxtowe.gov.uk or on social media for us to share with others.

What you cannot do

  • You must not meet with anybody outside your household or support bubble in any indoor setting, whether at home or in a public place.
  • You must not meet in a group of more than six outside, including in a garden or other space (excluding exemptions). This limit of six includes children of any age.
  • You must not meet with people outside your household or support bubble in a private garden or in most outdoor public venues.

The ‘Very High’ alert measures come into force at one minute past midnight on Friday 30 October 2020. Full details about the Tier 3 restrictions are on the Government website (Opens in a New Window).

As well as following the new restrictions above, please also:

  • HANDS - wash hands regularly for at least 20 seconds.
  • FACE - wear face coverings in enclosed spaces where you can’t keep your distance (unless you are exempt, please respect those who are exempt).
  • SPACE - observe social distancing of 2m (or 1m with additional precautions where 2m is not possible)

Please check www.broxtowe.gov.uk/coronavirus for updates on any new local restrictions which may impact on your plans.
