Event details are as follows:
Beeston – Saturday 4 December
Beeston residents can meet Santa at Broadgate Park on Saturday 4th December with the main event activity will take place on Beeston Square, Styring Street and Foster Avenue car park from 4.30pm-6.30pm. You will find a variety of traditional children’s fairground rides in Foster Avenue Car Park and along the High Road. The lights switch on ceremony will take place on Beeston Square at 5.30pm whereby the Mayor of Broxtowe will lead the countdown. At 6.30pm, the fantastic firework finale can be viewed from Foster Avenue
Parking in the town centre is limited, so please use public transport where possible. The Beeston Tram and Bus interchange will bring you right into the heart of Beeston and is just a short walk from the Square.
Eastwood – Tuesday 30 November
The Eastwood Christmas lights switch-on takes place along Nottingham Road and Scargill Walk from 6pm until 8pm on Tuesday 30 November. Look out for festive street theatre; meet some comical Victorian carol singers performing traditional carols and Mickey and Minnie will be in town too. Kids will be awed by the giant bubbles floating around Victoria Street and Nottingham Road.
Make sure you head over to Scargill Walk Car Park with the kids to visit Santa’s Grotto between 5:30-8:30pm. The Mayor of Broxtowe and the Town Mayor will lead the official countdown for the light switch on at 7pm at the main stage by Eastwood Library with a firework display at 8.00pm.
Stapleford – Saturday 27 November
The countdown to Christmas begins for Stapleford takes place on Saturday 27th November with the annual Stapleford Christmas light switch on event taking place at Walter Parker VC Memorial Square, Victoria Street and within Victoria Street car park. You can find the Christmas market on Victoria Street from 12noon. The event will start at 4.30pm with a range of hot food, sweets and donut stalls for you to dive into and children’s funfair rides. On the square between 2.30pm and 5.45pm you can visit Santa’s Grotto to make all your Christmas wishes.
The ceremony starts at 5.30pm at the Christmas tree, so join the Mayor of Broxtowe and the Town Mayor in the countdown. Misspent Youth will entertain you on the main stage, playing a wide mix of music from bands such as The Jam and The Stereophonics. The event culminates in a spectacular firework display at 6.30pm. The best place to view the display is on Derby Road or Victoria Street Car Park.
Kimberley - Friday 26 November
Kimberley’s Lights Switch-on will take place on Friday 26 November. Enjoy children’s rides and food stalls from 4.30pm in Newdigate Street, live music from Benji D at 6.15pm on the Toll Bar carpark, with the light switch-on and fireworks at 7.00pm.
